Assistive Technology Product Quick Tips

Quick Tips are generally short overviews of a product and a listing of basic or the most used commands.

Assistive Technology Tutorials

This section will include tutorials that have been developed by GIMC,  GPAT, or submitted by a teacher.

The following are tutorials used in GIMC workshops and the InTech Vision Module. Some may require other files that are not available on this site. The numbered tutorials are intended to be used in order. If you don't have the software, but still want to try a tutorial, many companies offer demos that can be downloaded. Check the Products Page for links to these companies.

1. Windows Keystrokes tutorial - GIMC
This tutorial covers the basics and is the foundation of computer access.

2. Connect Outloud tutorial - GIMC
A brief tutorial on using C.O.L with the Internet and the FS Editor.

3. JAWS tutorial - GIMC
A beginners introduction to using JAWS for basic word processing tasks
and filling in forms.

Braille n' Speak Scholar tutorial - GIMC
Cover beginner and intermediate uses. Adapted from the Braille n' Speak
Curriculum by Blazie.

Kurzweil 1000 tutorial - GIMC
This covers basic  to intermediate file reading, editing, scanning,
and embossing.
